Mormon. Two possible meanings:
1) An ancient Nephite prophet who abridged and compiled the records of his people known today as The Book of Mormon.
2) A nickname commonly used to refer to a member of the LDS Church, though some members do not like this term. In 2018, seventeenth LDS President Russell M. Nelson said it offends Jesus to refer to the church or its people as “Mormon” and thus he instructed that the church be known by either its full name or “The Church” while the followers should be called “Latter-day Saints.”
