The series titled “Come, Follow Me,” originated in 2018 when the church put together weekly studies for members of all ages. The topics included doctrinal issues such as the Godhead, the Plan of Salvation, the Atonement, and Ordinances and Covenants among them.

During the past three years, these were the organized topics:

• 2019: New Testament
• 2020: The Book of Mormon
• 2021: Doctrine and Covenants

In 2022, the theme is the Old Testament. There are different curriculum using the same scriptural references for individuals and families; Sunday School; Primary; Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood, Seminary; and Relief Society and Elders Quorum. (See here for the different possibilities.)

As far as the reading schedule, the church explains,

The suggested Come, Follow Me reading schedule for 2022 does not include every chapter in the Old Testament. Because the Old Testament is longer than other volumes of scripture, some chapters and books have been omitted to make the reading schedule more manageable for you and your family.

Therefore, not every Old Testament passage is part of the study. In addition, the manual explains “that this is just a suggested study schedule. Your personal and family scripture study should be guided by personal revelation.”

This year MRM would like to take a closer look at the 2022 curriculum aimed at “Individuals and Families.” Each review will have fewer than 2,500 words, so this should not be considered an exhaustive look at the lessons used in this curriculum. Instead, our goal is to introduce an Evangelical Christian response to those who are reading the series. Use this page to link to find our weekly rebuttals.
