Aren’t You Just A Bunch Of Biased And Hateful Bigots Who Have Nothing Better To Do Than To Persecute Mormons?
Rather than intellectually respond to the arguments and rebuttals we present, many feel it is better to call us and our ministry derogatory names. The problem with many people who use this type of language is they have unfortunately concluded that critical analysis cannot be had without some hidden and/or evil motivation.

Why Mormonism?
People often ask why we have focused our attention on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. “Why Mormonism,” they ask. “Why not other religions you may disagree with?” Usually such questions are accompanied with an insinuation that somehow our motives are based in some sort of deep-seated dislike for the Mormon people.

How Is MRM Funded?
Mormonism Research Ministry (MRM) has often been described as a David fighting a Goliath. While it is true that we don’t have the financial resources that are anywhere close to the multi-billion dollar empire of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Lord has seen fit to make our presence known. In doing…

Eight Mormon Myths
By Bill McKeever Listen Myth #1: The Mormon Church is the fastest growing religion in the world. The sheer number of adherents to Catholicism and Islam make them far and away the fastest growing religions in the world by birthrate alone.

Trying To Make It More Difficult To Get to the Facts
Larry Burkdall certainly understands the effectiveness of the World Wide Web. Burkdall, the president of the Latter-day Foundation for the Arts, Education and Humanity, recently made a plea on “The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization of BYU” blog site asking for assistance in the organization’s new effort to “drive down Church enemies from prominent search engine positions”…

Fair Above All Virgins
In the recently released movie titled, The Nativity Story, viewers are given a glimpse at what life was probably like for Mary and Joseph after it was learned that the espoused Mary is pregnant. Though I’ve heard pastors and theologians discuss the social ramifications of such a predicament, I can’t recall any film that does…

Adam-God: Another Botched Joke?
BYU professor Stephen E. Robinson made a comment on pages 19 and 20 that appeared in his book Are Mormons Christians? Robinson was trying to fend off criticism toward second President Brigham Young regarding his infamous “Adam-God” sermon. In a conference message on April 9, 1852, Young stated that the first man, Adam, was our…

The Validity of the Mormon Church
Naturally I receive a lot of mail from well-meaning Latter-day Saints telling me how I will never be able to “disprove” the claims of Mormonism. Personally, I find such a comment a tad bit on the arrogant side since it exposes a sense of “omniscience” that no Mormon owns. A recent comment I received stated:…

A Tribute to Jerald Tanner
Bill McKeever – October 7, 2006 Archibald Alexander (A. A.) Hodge (1823-1886), the reknowned Christian theologian and principal of Princeton, once remarked that "it is easier to find a score of men wise enough to discover the truth than to find one intrepid enough, in the face of opposition, to stand up for it."

A Time of Loss
Last night, Jerald Tanner, co-founder of Utah Lighthouse Ministry, passed away quietly after an eight year struggle with Alzheimer’s. I first had the privilege of meeting the Tanners back in 1977 when my wife and I took our first vacation to Salt Lake City. At that time Utah Lighthouse Ministry was known as Modern Microfilm…

Commandment-Keeping and God’s Grace
My October, 2006 edition of Ensign just arrived. I wish more of my Christian friends who think Mormonism is abandoning its heretical past would take closer notice of what the LDS Church is still teaching; for instance, in an article titled “Plain and Precious Truths Restored.” On page 53, Clyde Williams, BYU assistant professor of…
