Lucifer. One of the literal sons of Elohim and Heavenly Mother, the spirit brother of all mankind, including Jesus. Lucifer was present at the council of the gods, which was called to determine how mankind would be saved.

According to Seventy Milton R. Hunter,

“The appointment of Jesus to be the Savior of the world was contested by one of the other sons of God. He was called Lucifer, son of the morning. Haughty, ambitious, and covetous of power and glory, this spirit-brother of Jesus desperately tried to become the Savior of mankind” (The Gospel Through the Ages, 15). Lucifer’s plan was rejected, resulting in his rebelling against his father Elohim (D&C 29:36, Book of Abraham 3:27-28).

In the Bible, Lucifer is a fallen angel whose rebellion against God caused him to be cast out of heaven (Luke 10:18). He was a created being brought into existence by Jesus Christ (John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:1-2).
